13th Annual Rocky Ripple Festival

The Rocky Ripple Festival occurs every year in September in the Rocky Ripple neighborhood of Indianapolis Enjoy a beautiful fall day at the annual Rocky Ripple “Festival in the Park” while listening to live music and eating good food and drink. The event is staged entirely through volunteer efforts from the community. 2011 was the 12th year of the festival and the biggest and best yet! Proceeds benefit the Rocky Ripple Parks Endowment Fund which focuses on “the arts.” The Music, Arts and Crafts Festival is held in Rocky Ripple Hohlt Park that is free to the public. In 2011, as in years past, musical groups will perform an eclectic assortment of tunes throughout the entire day. There are arts and crafts for the kids, games and face painting.. The Community Association and Veterans Association provide a variety of grilled offerings and fresh corn on the cob for extremely reasonable prices.

This event provides funding for the Fishers Freedom Festival, Roy G. Holland Memorial Fund, and the ‘Backpack for Kids’ program to support Hamilton Southeastern students. Donations will be accepted for canned food, new toys, books, and puzzles for the Hamilton County Good Samaritan Program. This program benefits those in need during the holidays. There will be over 150 Vendors. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 or 6 tickets for $5. Admission: $5 Adults; $2 High School Students; under 12 years FREE.

Stroll the aisles of vendors of unique hand–crafted. You will also find vendors of well established home-based. There will be many wonderful home-made cakes, pies, cookies and fudge that can be purchased from a variety of vendors. This event is one of the largest fundraisers for Delta Theta Tau of Shelbyville. The proceeds from this event go to fund scholarships for local high school students as well as donations to the Cancer Society, Hospice, United Fund, and Food Pantry’s on the local level plus Ectodermal Dysplasia on the national level.

The St Lukes’s Holiday Bazaar showcases handcrafted items and the artistic talents of the vendors. The proceeds benefit local and global missions of St Luke’s Church. The Bazaar features a bake sale with home-baked pies, cakes, cookies and candies and hot homemade cinnamon rolls. There is also a luncheon for shoppers for a small fee. Open to the Public. Delta Theta Tau’s Nu Tau Chapter has a long tradition of charitable and philanthropic efforts. Last year, Delta Theta Tau was able to pass along the proceeds of more than $26,000 to many families, individuals and organizations in the Greater Indianapolis community. There will be over 150 vendor booths available throughout the High School, food/baked goods and drinks on sale in the cafeteria, also a coat/stroller/package check at the north doors, and maps available at all doors and posted throughout the building. An exciting Raffle takes place in the Cafeteria, tickets are $1 or 6/$5. All proceeds are donated to Delta Theta Tau’s philantropic projects. Admission $2 donation.
