The Atlantic stingray is part of a family of stingrays called “whiptails.”, meaning it has a long, whiplike tail with a venomous spine. Stingrays bury themselves in sandy to hide from prey and predators. If accidentally surprised or stepped on, they will defend themselves with their painful piercing, spiny tails. This Atlantic Stingray is submerged in clear blue glycerin soap and measures 3-3/8 inched long, 2 inches wide, and 7/8 inch thick weighing 3.4 oz.
